Spoiler warning!
This page contains details about Fallen London Actions.
A slim volume rests on your table, ready at hand. Blanchett's Correct and Proper Form was indispensable on the Surface, and has been appropriately updated to match Neathy customs.

Game Instructions: Engaging in some social actions with other players may require you to make introductions first. The branches below will inform – or refresh – you on how this works, or allow you to dismiss this storylet altogether.

    Reaching out

Success Instructions: In Fallen London, you can add other players as contacts if you know their character name. For some social actions, a contact is all you require. You can add contacts, or select an existing one, when undertaking a social activity.

Some activities require a more personal touch. For these, you must first be acquainted with the intended recipient. To make an acquaintance, you must send a calling card, available in 'Attend to Matters of Society!', and hope that they accept.

There is a limit to the number of acquaintances you can maintain at once. To make new ones when you reach this limit, you must first snub an existing acquaintance, also available in 'Attend to Matters of Society!'.

    Fragile opportunities

Success Instructions: Time, the Healer will bring you each week if you don't currently have any. You can use Favourable Circumstances to arrange a meeting with one of London's factions, or to orchestrate some other propitious opportunities in 'Send a Message to a Contact'.
