y'know what? i kinda miss that exact state of things. it was the emergent-behavior punchline to the joke of the knock being strict BiS for BDR. and the meta (both mechanical and narrative) that emerged, of seeking as a thing which those rich in hinterland wealth did as a tourist attraction, all for a souvenir to put on their mantelpiece and to secure ever further social status, was delicious.

maybe the undertale fan in me is showing. i'm always a sucker for the idea of taking the feeling of extradiegetic detachment from a narrative and making it itself a diegetic part of the narrative
