Possible hidden mechanic for alternative success

Action purge is not allowed on comment pages.
I've hit the alt. success on this action about a dozen times now with near 100% success by spacing it out with 3-4 visits in-between where I just stop in to chat. It's too bad the Acquaintance quality caps at 10.
