Fallen London Wiki:Protection policy

Fallen London Wiki, true to the base principle of wikis, aims to be openly editable by anyone. Except for a few special pages (like the Main Page), all content pages are free from any kind of protection.

However, this can leave us open to large-scale vandalism and high server load caused by bad faith or incorrect edits. Because of this, certain high-risk technical pages (such as templates and Lua modules) unfortunately need to be under some level of protection, as any edits to these kinds of pages will have wide-ranging effects throughout the entire wiki.

These restrictions are applied based on the number of transclusions that these pages have, and are as follows:

  • 250+: Autoconfirmed protection (registered user with at least 10 edits and at least 4 days since account creation)
  • 5000+: Template editor protection (trusted user group, granted on request)

Under special circumstances, some particularly complex or important templates or modules may also receive protection even if they don't cross the relevant threshold.
