Forum:"Other X uses"
I noticed that on the item pages, under effects theres an item called "other [item] uses" and I was wondering if it would make more sense for that to be a seperate section on the page. Then you wouldn't have to click through to a catagory page.

The system is coded to automatically place links categorized with "[Item] Uses" in its separate Uses category page. The same goes for links categorized with "[Item] Sources"; it has its own generated Sources category page.
I'm not entirely sure, but I suppose it should be possible to alter the code to generate links on the original Item's page. If not, it'd be a lot of extra work to manually sort everything.
If we place the Uses links on its individual Item page, it'd also be in line to place all the Sources link there. Most items have such a staggering length of links that I'd rather not bother. Then it would just become a different issue: the irritation of scrolling versus clicking to another page. Scrolling is more tiring for the hand, especially the wrist. I want to cut down on that.
I also find it neater with the current cataloging system:
Individual Item page with its effects & personal uses/conversion options
Item Uses page for unlock requirements and all other sorts of uses/losses
Item Sources page for gaining more of said item
I wouldn't actually mind if we placed all the associated Uses and Sources links on the Item page. We could use expandible/collapsible code to trim the longer lists. What does everyone else think?
SheaPM, thanks for your suggestion. It's nice to hear that people care about improving the wiki. :)
I have a burning question: are you viewing this wiki with ad-blocker software? I've tried to view this site without one and it was a horrific experience that I hope never to repeat. Some advertisements are far too obtrusive and draining on CPU resources, the active X scripts in particular. I absolutely understand why someone would want to reduce clicking for this website; you wouldn't have to load more crap ads that way. It's worse when you have a slow modem connection to load pages... Just to be clear, I'm okay with FL's ads but this wiki could/should definitely be more discerning with their choices.
