Any particular reason why it doesn't just have an "Item Type" parameter (instead of the "Item Type(Plural)" and "Item Type(as seen in the game)")? :/ --DrinkKryptonitetalk 06:00, July 8, 2013 (UTC)
...there was probably a good reason when it was first created. i can't think of one now. we should nix the "Item Type(as seen in the game)" field. people don't fill that field anymore. if it's filled in any items' source codes, we could weed them out.

There's a lot of items and no particular way to find only those that use that parameter. I'd want a new parameter simply called "Item Type" and then we can start quietly deprecating the other parameters, mostly by just deleting a "(Plural)". It would also be considerate towards newbies, if parameters have simple/logical names. --DrinkKryptonitetalk 09:53, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

no efficient way. ;p the hardcore editors can scan all 580 items in under 2 hours! ...though i would rather wait for someone to discover a faulty page and tell us it needs fixing.
revising it to just "Item Type" sounds fine to me. i'll wait for jemann to chime in with his thoughts in case there's a valid reason to keep "Item Type(as seen in the game)". doubtful but he knows more of the wiki's arcane history and magicks than us.

Full support! I always have to check the template page if I'm editing in source and I've forgotten... Wondering whether it should be "Item name" or "Item Name", though? — Aximillio (talk) 16:26, August 29, 2013 (UTC)
"Item Type" is already familiar to many editors, and it's less likely to be misunderstood. If we use "Item Name", people might really input the actual name of the item! (Ex: For item Silk Scrap, placing "Silk Scrap" into the parameter when they should use "Rag Trade".)

I just got around to removing Item Type(as seen in the game) and had a bot rename Item Type(Plural) to simply Item Type as well. Achris (talk) 21:55, June 19, 2015 (UTC)
