[…] Ashen-faced miners nurse drinks […] coral-encrusted locals wage slow war over chessboards, bleary-eyed dockworkers down pints between jobs, and the sinuous lamp-cats go anywhere they please, affixing all alike with their blank, abyssal stare.

TidesSecond paragraph
0The tides of Port Cecil are rising; brackish water is gushing into the scintillack pits. Now is the time for the miners and lamp-cats to rest; to gather their strength.
1The tide pools outside are fully submerged, their precious corals inaccessible. Your patrons seem relieved by this.
2The still-rising waters around Port Cecil are sloshing against the Poisoned Pawn's raised stilts. The mine will not be open for a while yet.
3The moonish light from the roof above is bright, now; the Impostor Moon hangs low on its perch, and the tide is at its highest.
4The zee no longer sounds so close beneath your feet. It seems that the Impostor Moon's curiosity is waning.
5Crags of coral are beginning for surface around the bay. Very soon, the tide pools will be accessible again, and work can begin anew.
