Once built, the Tracklaying Beast is a scientific marvel, a metal elephant that extrudes tracks instead of tusks. The Beast is also so immensely heavy that it struggles to move. The crowd gathered to witness its debut disperses before it can lay a second segment of track. Despite its impractical speed, the Prehistoricists consider this a success.
