Mahogany Hall is a location that is unlocked through the Embroiled in the Wars of Illusion storyline and primarily features a carousel that requires building the quality before it can be spent for various stage shows on a particular . This will be how you advance the Wars of Illusion storyline as well. See Embroiled in the Wars of Illusion (Guide) for more details there. There is an additional menace to be found here as well,
When you first unlock , you’ll need to play a pair of storylets in order to get to the main section. The first, Start your career at Mahogany Hall requires you to have either 95 or 95. The second, The rhythm of life at Mahogany Hall has no requirements. Together these will unlock the main carousel.
Initially you will have to build your to a minimum of 8 to cash out, (36 CP) with the max option occurring at 14 (105 CP). It's worth noting that when you cash out you will only spend 10, 20, or 30 CP, so as long as you don't fall below 10, you can continue cashing out. That said, you can no longer bank more than level 14. The final two storylets on this chart will gain you or for advancing the Wars of Illusion storyline.
When you accrue enough you can spend some of that CP on shows with various rewards. As you advance further down the day of the week, the higher the you require. You will select the day of the show using The weekly variety bill! and then you will run the show, taking 2 actions.
The max echoes per action is 1.125, so this grind is not particularly profitable by the time you get to Mahogany Hall, given that you should be at this point. But, if you particularly need Moon Pearls then it may be more worthwhile to pursue them here rather than buying them at the bazaar. However, Carving out a Reputation at court may well be more efficient for obtaining Moon-Pearls.
When picking options for building Tales of Mahogany Hall, its worth noting that many options only build which, as long as you have at least and no will only cost .50 if it gets too high, so if you have a chance of failure, those options may be your best bet.
If this reaches 5, a storylet autofires that will cause you to lose or if you lack one, as it pops. If you have no weasels on you, instead an unlucky nearby weasel pops instead. If this happens, you will gain +2 CP. Either way, the will then reduce by -7 CP. This will also reduce by 1 with .
When this quality hits 3 or more, you can eliminate it at a 50% chance with the storylet A most vexing melody.
