The option to burn a {{IL|Searing Enigma}} is more useful if you are trying to grind {{IL|Teaching Reputation of Your Laboratory|Appearance=Teaching Reputation}}. The other option is more useful if you want to train just one student - specifically the specific student that would enable special research options for specific projects.
