Editing Template:GuideFor[edit]
Hi! Just wanted to give you a heads up that when adding new things in the {{GuideFor}} template in guides, every single page on the wiki within that area or with that unlock have to refresh and add a banner, which both takes server resources and makes a big mess, so if you're not entirely sure what you're doing (and sometimes even then), it's a fast way to make a lot of mess on other, unrelated pages. So a tip is to just avoid that section of the guides until you're confident that you can use it correctly =) Aximillio (talk) 20:20, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
Fair enough. I started messing with it when I went to check the foreign office location page, and thought I discovered a lack of guide on said page. I thought maybe I'd be helpful and write one, only to discover while checking the guides page for advice or a template, that it had one, and just was not linked.
I figured I'd be helpful and make it so, and then decided to see if any other guide wasnt attached to a location it ought to be. Maybe I was a tad liberal with that, so if someone with more experience could then filter through the guides and make sure they're attached properly, that might be for the best. - The Foreign Office one was good, cause that guide is for the whole location, not just an activity that can be done there. I think Asarta undid most of the other ones.
For example, if you use |Location=The Hurlers, it will affect every single storylet and card that's in the Hurlers, and that's not good if there are multiple things to do there =)
Edit: Actually, there's some of the options in the Foreign Office that shouldn't be included as well Aximillio (talk) 22:41, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
