Someone put in the rare success spreadsheet a column titled "Contributers (to keep track of who is who...)" with the entry "o,on" next the A cavalry officer action.

The entry isn't very informative, but the overall issue is important. Should we keep track of who is changing the spreadsheet?

If we decide to do so then there is a much better way of doing that - I can define the doc as private, which will make it accessible only to specific people. What this means is that you'll have to log on to Google services and your email address will be visible in the revision history. This will make any potential vandalism (which happens on other wikis) impossible and we won't need any "Contributers" tabs.

However, I'm against this. This seams like a needless breach of privacy and may limit the number of people who contribute to the doc. Furthermore, the only good reason I can think of for tracking contributes is to prevent vandalism, but it's inconceivable that anyone of us would do that.

Your thoughts?

We could make a Google form and have that direct all responses to a specific Google spreadsheet. The form would be public and the spreadsheet could be private.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to go about this with our particular circumstances; it's not as if people could simply choose a multiple choice answer of A to E or something from a short dropdown list. They'd have to type out the full name of the storylet/card action, and there's bound to be grammar and spelling mistakes. I'm not sure how Google would go about sorting them, or how to direct Google to do it successfully.

If we're stuck with the single spreadsheet, I'd rather it be kept public for the reasons you already stated.

Right, so I'm keeping things as is and deleting the needless "contributers" column. Vae Victis (talk) 12:35, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Kay, I need somewhere to track what I've updated and what not, but i can fix that on my profile page.
