New categorizations for paramount Presence storylets[edit]

Hi,

I see you've added the Trimmed category to a few pages (e.g. A desire for freedom).

Is the text listed indeed trimmed from the original? If so, the text needs to explicitly show this (i.e. by adding […] where text was snipped). If not, the page shouldn't have this category.

As the Category:Trimmed guide explains, this category is a mark for us admins to go and clear the page's history of past versions which included the full text.

Also - I've removed some other categories you've added: e.g. Category:London's Sinew should list pages requiring this quality (non at the moment). Pages giving this quality are categorized with Category:London's Sinew Gain, which is linked in the Category:London's Sinew page.

mediawiki/extensions/Popups[edit]

Hi, congrats on the move, it's quite the undertaking.

There's one extension I'd like to see on here, namely the Popups one.

I've recently started my own wiki for my D&D campaign using MediaWiki and this extension does a lot for ease of use, in my opinion.

Edit: didn't notice I was no longer logged in so my message was posted anonymously, hope this edit will fix that.

Hi! It's now installed, and you can opt-in to it from Special:Preferences. Hope this helps! Alan (talk) 21:54, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
My everlasting thanks! CorranH (talk) 00:21, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Page not migrated?[edit]

Hi,

I've noticed the Cryptographic Chiropteran page doesn't seem to have survived the transition to the new wiki (looks like an isolated issue? at least, I can't find any other pages where this has happened). I've recreated the page here for now, but I thought I'd let you know on the off chance that it's happened somewhere else.

Also, thank you for all your work setting up the new wiki - it's so much better now! 34Witches (talk) 01:24, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. There's at least one other page that also appears to have not been transferred over properly (Find the Moonlit Chessboard) - the history was still in the database, but the page itself was deleted.

In that case, I restored the deleted revisions from the history and all was well (though the fact that the pages weren't restored properly in the first place is utterly perplexing).

Evidently I need to take a closer look at the deletion log to see if any other pages suffered from this. Alan (talk) 01:32, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Editing Category template[edit]

Hi,
I'd like to help improving the category page (like this one). So it shows for each link the required levels. Any pointers? Suhl (talk) 01:59, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Hey! If you want to do that, your only option is to add a manual list to the page. The list of links is usually automatically generated by MediaWiki, and there's not an easy way to change it.
I think the way people usually do stuff like that is by making a ==Progress== section to the actual quality page, like on this page. Alan (talk) 05:11, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Comment content[edit]

You can purge my comments entirely when you transfer the information into the page proper. Since you list the mechanical results too, leaving even the snipped part is redundant. (sorry, I'm too lazy to make pages myself)

Good to know - just overcautious and averse to removing content, haha. Making pages is hard. :p Alan (talk) 21:00, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
Easier than it looks from afar, but I'm lazy and somewhat busy irl. Never ask for whom the bell tolls, for what if it tolls for you? (talk) 21:02, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Once you can see the icon, you can rip the file from the browser cache - right-click and "Save as...". Gives both the image and the name. Never ask for whom the bell tolls, for what if it tolls for you? (talk) 00:26, 27 April 2021 (UTC)

I'm aware! It's just that I took the information for the branch -> item -> quality from a set of screenshots, so that option wasn't available to me (and I didn't ask the person who posted it in time for them to see the question) :p Alan (talk) 00:28, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
